Hey CBS…

I have completely had it with CBS. I got an email at 7:42 PM on Sunday from the CBS Eye-Alert system notifying me that the start times for their shows had changed due to NCAA Basketball. First, it was PGA golf that caused this, since basketball is over with right now. Second, I am sick and tired of having to modify the recording options for Big Brother on my TiVo just because CBS does not know how to properly run a network!
My friend Brian had this to say in his blog:
“it was a nice relaxing weekend, and was all ready to crawl in bed and watch Big Brother last night, so I could roll over and sleep at 9p. But because CBS has no regard for their viewers..again Big Brother was late(40 minutes). I think the show has aired on time twice…I thought that when football season was over this shit would stop! If you’re gonna do sports…just start 60 mintues at 8, and be done with it..at least you’d know when the damn show would be on! Geesh….what a way to run a network..and get you loyal viewers! Assholes! Geesh”
His thoughts sum up how I feel as well. But I have one more thing to say to CBS, and a picture is worth a thousand words!

Cheers!
Viddler Plugin

Last week The Viddler Lab released their video plugin for WordPress 2.5. I was very excited about this, as it will allow people to leave video comments on my blog by either recording a video from their webcam or selecting one from their videos already on viddler. The other great thing this plugin does is work with the new media import that WordPress has implemented on the editor. I don’t use the editor that often, just when I am posting videos, so this will help.
Well I ended up having issues after installing the plugin. For some reason the browser kept reloading after I would login to viddler. Well, after installing beta2 of the plugin and sharing my results with The Viddler Lab team, the problem was found. Turns out that my WordPress settings were messed up and I had multiple subdomains being used for my blog address and location. Well after that fix, things are working!
My experience with the plugin has been great! I was able to take advantage of it on The Viddler Lab blog by sharing the videos of my installation and testing that I had uploaded to viddler. This alone makes troubleshooting that much easier. The guys there could see exactly what I had done to get to the point of failure. Certainly a lot better than typing all of my steps out!
The integration with the post editor has also been great. I can pull the videos that I have on viddler or even choose one from someone else to embed into my posts. I just recently did a lipsync video and posted it. The process was seamless!
So, my overall thoughts on the viddler plugin? It’s fantastic! The developers in The Viddler Lab have done a great job and I look forward to other great applications from them to extend my videos to other social networking sites I am on.
Cheers to viddler!
