		<description>Unfortunately, with the way that cell phone sales work in the US, I think Apple needed to give up more of the power to ensure that they would reach their 10 million phone mark. For Apple to convince AT&amp;T to give them that much money up front (subsidy) they needed to give it up to make sure that the iPhone actually stays on the AT&amp;T network and isn&#039;t sold to another country or unlocked for another carrier. I bought the first iPhone and love it but won&#039;t be upgrading because their isn&#039;t enough new hardware there and 3G just isn&#039;t available in my area (and besides that I&#039;m always around a Wifi hotspot).</description>
