Ever since I got an iPhone I have found it easier to stay connected. One of the best apps for keeping me connected to Twitter is Tweetie.

At first I was hesitant to pay for an app that I knew nothing about. This atebits company didn’t have a desktop app, so I was unsure as what to expect from them. After jumping around in the forums and asking some questions of my own, I knew that I had to get this program. My friends were surprised that I paid for an app, because I am cheapskate :)

I have to say that Tweetie has paid off for me. The best feature of the program is that I can run multiple accounts in the app. That has been helpful, since there are four Twitter accounts that I manage.

Last month I told Albert (@iAlbert) about the program, because he was managing his Twitter accounts with different programs on his iPhone. I told him that the app was $2.99 and management of multiple accounts was simple. He has been using the app and loves it, sure beats all of those others apps he had installed!

There are other great aspects of Tweetie too. The multiple display options for viewing the timeline (my preference is dark), the abililty to save drafts for posting later, and the ever-funny poopularity enhancer. If you are a fan of the fart apps, you will like the popularity enhancer.

With the launch of Tweetie for Mac and all of the rave reviews about it, it seems that atebits has made using Twitter that much more simple and fun with these great apps.

Cheers!

For those of you that were in attendance at PodCampAZ, you own some SWAG from Tweet Tees. For those of you that couldn’t make it, here is your chance to grab a wristband and button (they come in a set). Now I only have 5 of these left, because they were going faster than beer at a kegger. To get yourself some goodies from Tweet Tees, be sure to look for me on Twitter (@jacobburke) as I will tweet out a question everyday, starting on November 17.

The person that answers the question correctly will win a wristband and button from Tweet Tees.

Be on the lookout come November 17 for your chance to win!

Cheers!

UPDATE

After going through my notes from PodCampAZ, I discovered that I still have some stickers! In addition to the wristband and button, each daily winner will also receive two Tweet Tees stickers!

Tonight on Seesmic I asked the question ‘Is Twitter Dying?’. I got a good amount of replies to my question, most of them being positive and people hope that the service stays alive. My true reason behind asking the question was to see what people really thought. My hope is that Twitter does continue to fix the scalability and architecture issues and comes back stronger than ever. I really like the community I have built and would have to have to build another one elsewhere. I have embeded the video from Seesmic, which also shows the entire conversation (the audio is low in my initial post).

A few weeks ago, a site was launched that has kept Twitter from going the way of friendster (read: abandoned). Tweet2Win has become a popular site among Twitter users: with weekly prize drawings for being active on Twitter, it is giving users an incentive to keep tweeting.

The site has a very simple sign-up for users to enter the weekly contest. Just this week, a referral system was launched for users to name the Twitter user that referred them to the site. The prizes are great, and Tweet Tees has been a consistent sponsor giving away their popular shirts.

The site has a lot of promise, and as Twitter grows, I believe that the sponsors and contest entries will too.

Well as you may remember back on May 1, I wrote about how I had worked with Albert [@iAlbert] to setup the Eat. Sleep. Tweet. store using osCommerce. Well, after the store was up and running, things took a downward spiral pretty quickly. Orders would show up in PayPal, but nothing would exist in the database. Buyers that had setup accounts to purchase items were not seeing previous orders in their account, and on top of this – Albert had to contact the buyers after the sale to find out what shirt they ordered (this data is not passed along to PayPal).

So, after much deliberation and looking around, he decided to go with an online store powered by Shopify. I spent the better part of Saturday night and Sunday modding out a template that leverages Lightbox and some AJAX-y goodness. The end result is a an online store that is more flexible and with a provider that we can rely upon.

I urge you all to check out the store, located at: store.eatsleeptweet.com. The main domain of eatsleeptweet.com will eventually provide the public with more information about the company, contain a blog, and offer information about how internet show hosts can partner with Eat. Sleep. Tweet. for giveaways.

As for me, I will continue to help Albert get the word out about the store and the work he is doing.
