Tonight on Seesmic I asked the question ‘Is Twitter Dying?’. I got a good amount of replies to my question, most of them being positive and people hope that the service stays alive. My true reason behind asking the question was to see what people really thought. My hope is that Twitter does continue to fix the scalability and architecture issues and comes back stronger than ever. I really like the community I have built and would have to have to build another one elsewhere. I have embeded the video from Seesmic, which also shows the entire conversation (the audio is low in my initial post).

As I was catching up on my reading for the weekend, Dennis Miller, the PR Director at Mansfield University (my alma mater), wrote an article about his experience with ANIMOTO. Now, Dennis is a great guy and is heavily involved in technology when it comes to public relations. He is always looking for the next best thing to come along. As I was reading, I got more intriqued with this site. So, I hopped on over, signed up for an account, and within 30 minutes I had a video exported to YouTube.

What ANIMOTO does is use a computer system to act as the editor and put together a professional video of photos and music. My little video came out nice, I used more photos than what was recommended – only a handful of them get used.

This is a great site for people like Dennis that have a lot of photos that they want to set to music. Mansfield University has a lot of events throughout the year. The $30/year cost doesn’t seem too bad for unlimited videos at extended lengths. A free account will get you 30 second shorts.

My take on ANIMOTO? Great for the person that wants a video put together quick & easy.

Cheers!
