Earlier tonight I tweeted that I finally got a grabup-like software working on my Windows machine. That software is called WinUp and is designed to let users take screen grabs of their computer and post them online to share with others. After I tweeted about the successful installation and setup with my web server, I received a reply from @grabup informing me that the popular GrabUp software that is currently available for the Mac OS will be released for Windows in a week or so.

I am truly excited about this information, as I am always needing to take screen grabs and share them with others. Yes, I have SnagIt installed, but the process is time consuming and then I have to go and manually upload the file to my server over FTP – this can take some time. Having the GrabUp software will allow me to take screen grabs faster than ever and will allow me to upload them to my web server with ease.

I am looking forward to the release of the Windows version and am already planning on buying a pro license.

Cheers!

I use Windows, I will admit it. My primary machine is a Dell XPS laptop. I would love to have a Mac, but the cost is too high.

Why am I writing about this? Well Andrew Dobrow has a great post as to why Robert Scoble should be running Microsoft. He talks about how MS has become so far removed from listening to customers that they are seen as a monster. I can agree with what he wrote. Apple listens to what their customers want and gives it to them. The unfortunate thing is that it is at such a high price.

I just feel that I am still a bit disconnected from my tech friends because I am sitting here running a Windows machine, and they are all sailing along with OSX.

So, does anyone want to buy me a Mac? HA! But seriously, if you want to, I will accept one :)

Cheers!
